Re: Reflex Sight

No dust-up, just a good discussion as I see it. You know what they say about opinions: they are just like ***-holes, everybody has one. However, I believe it can all be laid to rest now. This morning I had a three-way conversation with Steve Martens (IHMSA Pres.) and Jim Fields (Region 4 Director an...

Re: Reflex Sight

Lots of discussions/opinions which is ALWAYS good. However, bkraft's original question as to whether or not his Ultradot is legal to shoot has not been definitively answered. With the World Championships looming I think it is imperative that the rule is clarified. I still contend, that due to the op...

Re: Reflex Sight

I honestly believe the Federal Government is helping make our rules. We can take something so simple and convolute the heck out of it. Now with this rule we are only supposed to allow certain makes of sights that are "truly reflex" and ban all other dot type sights. In addition, we now ha...

Re: Reflex Sight

Why not get a ruling from Dell Taylor, Rules Committee? Steve W. I wholeheartedly agree since I'm using two of the compact RDS and the OKC match director has no problems with them. Mr. Taylor allegedly abhors electronic communication so if someone knows how to get the gist of this thread to him, pl...

Re: MAKING APERTURES FOR PEEPS

No, I was thinking a small engraved circle with a very fine line width. A filled dot would be interesting to experiment with first since it would be a LOT easier to make than a fine ring. I recently sold my industrial pantograph engraver. Wish I had it back now. As of right now, I'm not shooting sta...

Re: MAKING APERTURES FOR PEEPS

In my case, they are press fit since Delrin is extremely difficult to glue. I'm dealing with small bore so I'm not concerned with recoil. I doubt it would be an issue with BB since there is no mass and the fit is tight. Since making this one I've decided to go down in the diameter of the aperture. T...

Re: Reflex Sight

It is unfortunate that the water got muddied by using the word "reflex". I believe the intent was to allow dot type sights (be they red or whatever color) as a generic. They are all basically the same by way of having the dot generated from a point behind an objective lens or screen. Hence...

Re: Daisy

Took the Production championship at the first International Championship match with AIR in Tusco in 2002 with my 747, 77X80. Great shooter. Also, took the Unlimited with an IZH 46M with a 79 missing a turkey. Hence the handle 19 Turkeys! :) Steve W. Good handle under the circumstances! It's always ...

"Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do". The fading words of "HAL 9000" in "2001, a Space Odyssey". I have an answer for you HAL: the Daisy will SHOOT! I shot it for the first time last night at the OKC Gun Club in Production with a Holosun red dot sight. 40 with a 39 re...
