October Match Results - Ascension Silhouette

Another shooting season has drawn to a close at Ascension Silhouette with the completion of our State Championship Match Oct 3-4. Shooters were in attendance from two other coastal states as well as our home state of Louisiana. Harry Stover and Steve Broxson came from Florida to share the range with us and Region 2 Director Allen Gaskin came down from Mississippi. A total of 30 entries were fired over the two day event. Heavily overcast skies and gusty winds kept most of the scores down but there were some exceptions. Jay Clark and I each shot a 40X40 in UAS but Jay could not stay for the shoot-off. There was however a shoot-off in UAS/AAA between Robert Stevens and David Heintz. It was very close and came down to the last shot before it was decided. David came out on top with 6X10 vs Robert’s 5X10. Harry Stover put in a solid Field Pistol performance with a 55 aggregate score. We had several non-IHMSA members shoot with us and even though they did not shoot for official score I have their results included below. Thanks to Robert and David for remaining after the match to help with picking up the targets and rails.

In other news, and barring any unforeseen problems, we will see a return of Big Bore silhouette to Louisiana later this month. I plan to host a match at a new facility in Hodge, LA on October 24. A March to August schedule is being planned for 2016. Additional details will be made available as soon as I know them.

Charlie, That is good news about big bore returning to LA. I'm sure all your state and nearby state shooters appreciate all your hard work to get that set up. Hate to see a shooting season end but there is always next year!!! Our club has one more match for this year and then off till March. Thanks for keeping silhouettes alive in LA.

Many thanks to Charlie for all of his efforts for IHMSA in Louisiana. I was unable to attend because of a delay in the sale of my house, which had me under a deadline to get moved out. Congrats to all that attended !
