Well said Jim. And like you said-step up to the plate and take a position. I have said that many many times and no one has stepped forward to do so. When the train has had a malfunction and jumps track then everyone wants to jump on board and kill the conductor, when he has no control over the wreck and no one wants to look at why or what occurred to cause the wreck, just kill the conductor for he caused it all. All board members, executive committee members, officers are all volunteers. We do not get paid nor get benefits, and we look at what we think is best for the organization. We may not make the right decision at that particular time, but we try and try hard to keep it afloat. If we post something someone wants to crucify who ever posted what ever. I know this for a fact for I have been there and got crucified. I said I would never post a thing again, but I have eaten my words for I would like for the membership to know some of what we think is right for the organization but somethings are best keep to the board members for various reasons at hand at the particular moment. Thank you for reading.

Jim Kessler
Thanks for clearing up the Tusco situation. I have always heard rumors that the reason was that their were internal club divisions and disagreements that caused them to stop holding them. Glad you cleared that up.
I’m aware of all the work it takes to put on a big match. I can’t remember the year, but Robert, Steve Riddle, and myself ran an 80 round Region 2 match at LRGC, and did it without auto reset, and without the computer match program!
The match was program helps tremendously, but someone has to enter the scores at the end of the day, as Robert and I are painfully aware! :((

I've always knew there were extra targets at TUSCO. I didn't know all the circumstances how they got there.

I've been a proponent of multiple venues to host the Internationals. We have the targets. There may be some clubs that can host with their own targets. If it is passed around to 3 or 4 or even more clubs in rotation there would be less burnout. My club hosted the first two ECC matches. We have only one bank of each target. We ran 200 plus the first year and 300 plus the second year. We may want to rethink match program and go to a program similar to what they use at state, zone and the grand trap shoots. Just things to think of. If we aren't moving forward we are losing ground.

Just my 2 cents and it makes no sense.

Most of the shooters I see here in Texas are old farts like me. We need to find some way of getting more youngsters involved. Maybe someone will develop a silhouette video game and then maybe they will turn out to try the real thing. If we don't do something to attract young people, I don't think we have a chance to keep this sport viable for too much longer. Having said that however, I noticed a couple of young fellows at one of our matches last year, asking questions. So maybe there is hope after all.

If you can figure out how they can shoot with a cell phone you'll have more millennials than you can handle.
