Coogs, Just curious, was that gun a 7 1/2" barrel or 10 1/2" barrel? I had two Maxs a couple of years ago.

It would be a 7 1/2" gun. Everything, for sure from 11300 to 11588 are all 7 1/2" guns. To bad that Ruger "scrapped" all those from 11588 to 16314, believe it or not!!!!! 600-11588 is the highest one out there in public hands. I'm close, 600-11577, but no cigar!!! Some day I'll find it, It's worth a NIB 7 1/2 and a NIB 10 1/2 gun if you find it!! Coogs.

Have you checked with Remington. I had a couple friends that had Ruger Maximums. They sent them to rem. for repairs, and they would not repair them. They offered them the choice of any Ruger pistol in production . Both of them took the offer, and I believe the Maximums were destroyed.

i, could you possibly get me a little more information about that? You said Remington, are you sure you don't mean Ruger? The one I seek is out there, I spent about 2 hours on the phone one day with a nice woman from Ruger records, going through EACH record from 600-11300 up until we found the last one, 600-11588. Everything above that has been "SCRAPPED" that was about 3 years ago, so I am assuming that it has not been destroyed, yet. At worst it may have been converted. Coogs.

Coogs, Have you checked with Hamilton Bowen and Gary Reeder. They do conversions using the Max frames and maybe their records would show if they did a conversion for that S/N. Might get lucky with one of them.

I've been thinking about that. I've discussed serial numbers with Jack Huntington before and he's going to get me the ones he has, I'll eventually get around to the others. Hopefully it has not been converted. I've got my WTB/WTT add on about six or more forums, I know it will turn up someday. Thanks again, Coogs.
