Old thread, but good to see some occasional updates or info that is relative. I have a XP rifle in 7x47 Helms. I suspect it's the same as the Helms 747 Thunder listed in the info table. Rifle came with some ammo of unknown powder and a Culver powder measure setting (which was of no use to me). It shot that ammo very well with the Nosler bullets that came with the rifle, but I could never duplicate it.

I almost never shoot this rifle but with new info, I'll give some of it a try this fall/winter!

Great to see old specialties in use
I'm a 7mm nut. Cut my teeth on the 7-30 Waters and learned alot with the 7mm Bellm.
I had not previously been acquainted with the Helms until I got wrapped up in Reeder's Raptors
My 7mm JDJ#2 aka 7 Super Bower is probably on par with the Bellm but more pleasant to shoot

I'm loading them both using 444 marlin brass, but my JDJ is 21" and not braked.

If you're going the route of replacing the bolt, then I would go with a coned bolt. The barrel face would have to be cut for the cone, and then the chamber would have to be cut. No more tilting the gun; place the cartridge in the action and close the bolt. I have barreled several and use the coned bolt.
