No bother. Since you are an IHMSA Life member per your signature block the questions seem rather elementary. I found it somewhat confusing.

The Anschutz bolt gun was not Production legal, although built for the Production rules at the time. The 10" XP-100 in 7BR was not Production legal. Someone thought they could get the rules changed if Remington made that gun. Didn't happen.

Steve, this is one of the exact points I was trying to make in my earlier
post, called the Rise & Fall of IHMSA. The reasons i've read for not allowing
bolt guns in Production is that it would hurt the other manufactorers of Production
guns, such as, at the time I read this, Thompson-Center, who were actively helping us.
I didnt see any such concerns expressed when the highly expensive Freedom Arms
revolvers were allowed. Elgin Gates said those would NEVER be approved as long as
he was President. But, almost as soon as he was gone, they WERE! Seems to me a
case of whose ox is being gored.
