I shoot ALLOT of cast bullets. My main reasons are pure enjoyment & thrift.
For the enjoyment/thrift aspect my starting load is with Unique of Bullseye. What I will do is look in my reloalding manual in the pistol section for a like jacketed bullet weight that I intend to use (irregardless of caliber) & the use what it specifies for a powder weight of Unique or Bullseye.
I have never seen any signs of pressure with leading becoming a problem long before pressure does.
A couple weeks ago I discovered the most accurate load I have to date in my 30 Herret. 11gr of Unique, 118gr RFN, Rem Nickle brass & CCI primer very nearly stacks the bullets on top of each other at 100yds. I havent chronoed them yet (been waiting for warmer weather) but I would bet thhey are moving in the 17-1900 fps range.
Obviously at that speed & bullet weight it is unsuitable for shooting BB but I may just try it out on 1/2 scale this year.

Hi Jeff,
For both the 7BR and .30BR,
140-150 grain bullets
20 grains SR-4759
Federal 205 primers

7BR: Leadhead cast bore rider bullet (145 grain), Remington brass, Remington 7 1/2 primers, 29.5 grains of N-140. This is my 10.75 inch MOA load.

Howdy -
I shoot 6.5mm TC/U in 100, 120 and 140 Gr Serra bullets. I have not qualified the 140 with this powder so I
won't give that out. I've shot it - but I feel a hotter powder is needed.
For both the 100 and 120 gr (I shoot spitzer 1720 in the 120 gr) I use
W 748 26.8 Gr. This delivers approximately 2000 - 2300 fps. 2.5" OAL.

Josh,
ia am 7br from castboolits.
I am sperimenting with my 7br xp100 with the rcbs 7mm-145 and a lbt 135gr spitzer. SR4759 with wolf sr primers is looking promising. the 135 gr boolit seems to be a little easier in the recoil department.
