Tusco 6/7/14

Just got home a little bit ago from Tusco. I am very glad that I went and so is my brother. We can't wait to go back for the July shoot. Tusco Rifle Club is a great facility. I couldn't believe how many cowboy action shooters and how much lead the shot.
Great people and a great time. I met many guys who were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Thank you Jim for showing us the ropes. I actually shot another shooter's gun before I shot my own. He had 5 rounds left for his 22 hornet. I hit the last ram shooting a taco hold. That was different. Thank you to others as well, like Gordon who let my brother and I use his binoculars.
Now for the results. I shot two 22 lr contenders standing at field pistol targets. One has iron sights and the other has an ultradot red dot scope. For the iron sighter, I knocked over 6 targets. With the red dot, I got 13. I hit a few more, but 22 lr standard velocity has to hit them turkeys and rams just right. It was great to watch a few of the rams that I hit actually fall. I don't know which targets are worse for me, the chickens or turkeys.
Lastly, I recommend anyone who is thinking about trying silhouettes to just do it. I wish I would have tried in sooner. We had a fun and safe time. That is a great day especially when the sky is as blue as it was. I would love to see Chuck Shumar, Diane Feinstein, Mayor Bloomberg, and other you know whats experience silhouette shooting. Well, we are already thinking about next month. It was 2 hours back to where we live in PA and I said and heard 357 mag, 357 max, 7 tcu, 44 mag, Dan Wesson, Super Blackhawk, etc. Our wheels were turning, no pun intended.
