Our May match started out under rainy skies. By 11:00 it the rain had stopped and the sun came out. It has rained here almost every day the past few weeks. I feel that caused several shooters to not attend this match. All in all we still had a good time and turned in some good scores.
Jennie Malone one of our junior shooters brought her friend Claire Benver to shoot with us this month. It is good to see a junior shooter bring a friend out. Jennie's dad Ted brought Claire's father Mike Benver out also. Welcome Mike and Claire I hope you come back soon. Will Curlin made his first match in some time. Will complains he's blind. Most of us wish we were as blind as he is. He turned in a BB U 40+5 SO, BB R 36+4 SO, and a SB P 36+2 SO. Not bad for a guy who shoots 3-4 matches a year. I kept the high speed wobbles down enough to tickle down a 40 in SB UAS. Hitting 4 shoot-offs seemed easy compared to the regular targets. I think we have Ricky Foster hooked. He showed up this month with a new Contender. With a little practice he will be tough to handle.
Robbie Spencer one of our assistant match directors ruptured two discs in his back. It happened about the middle of May. He had to have pretty much emergency surgey to take care of it. He is on the mend and hopefully will be back shooting with us soon.
Our next match is June the 5th. Hope you will come see us. Now on to the scores.
