ASCENSION SILHOUETTE
GONZALES, LA
AUGUST 7, 2016
BY: CHARLIE BRAUD
It’s the rainy season here in Louisiana. We set up our range Saturday afternoon to be ready for our Sunday match. It was rather soggy with standing water at the 50 yard pig rails. Saturday night we had an intense rain event to add to the sloppy conditions. The target setters had to probe around in the water to find the submerged targets that were knocked off the rails. On the plus side it was visually impressive with bullet frags sending up geysers of water when targets were hit. Attendance was light but some good scores were fired. My brother Philip shot back to back 40X40s in UAS and PHSC. Bob Stevens shot a respectable 36 in UAS/AAA. Ellis Sisk managed a 30 in PH22. We also had 3 NRA Cowboy rifle shooters and their scores are listed below. There is only our September 4th match remaining before the State Championship in October.
