I hope everyone takes this comment the right way.
This forum is supposed to be the main source of information for IHMSA NOT Facebook. Just wondering why FB got the scores and not this forum.
Is a FB account required to find IHMSA info?
What's next, IHMSA tweets????

Facebook got the scores because I took pictures and posted them. I visit Facebook 99% more than this forum. Facebook is much more user friendly. I will take more pictures tonight and post.

Respectfully,

Doug Edney

P.S. It took 5 minutes to upload 3 of the 8 photos that I have to share. Facebook upload took seconds. The discussion at the delegate meeting was to update the website to this century. It is long over due. I will post a screenshot that shows I can only post 3 attachments.

The forum kicked me out. I'm back. I will post to Facebook later. I will try here as well, but I'm not going to waste the evening.

The forum does need updating. Facebook hates anything firearm related. One person will post something for sale and the entire facebook page will disappear.

I understand the expediency of Facebook but it can all disappear without notice, forever.

Doug, Thanks for the info. I'm not a FB guru so don't know the advantages or disadvantages of FB. I have heard that FB is becoming or is already anti gun. Thanks for posting the pictures.

just for some info:

The IHMSA facebook page was setup as a way to attract new shooters. it has done that along with attracting some old shooters back. Facebook is a social media interface and yes they are anti-gun. I am the admin of the facebook page.

This website IS the official IHMSA website. it does have capabilities that we cannot do on Facebook. one is gun related sales are not allowed on facebook, but allowed here.

Doug Has found the problem with this website as there is limits on the amount of attachments you can post. I also noticed that the forums do not properly interface with the Chrome Browser. In previous years, I posted the scores but I had access to the Match program and was able to get a direct acrobat file to post. But since I was not able to go to the World champs this year, I am not able to post them.

We do have some problems with the website and first here is the components of the website. each of these sections work independently of each other.

1. the front page
2. the forums
3. Email Server
4. FTP server
5 chat room (has not been used in years)

Our problem is the forums. since the person that originally setup the forums seems to have disappeared, we cannot do any major software upgrades or modify major settings. for us to upgrade the forums would require wiping out all previous data and start from scratch. all other sections of the website are fine.

and now to the main reason I posted. Facebook has it's uses BUT it is not the Official IHMSA website. This website is the official website for IHMSA.

and if anybody noticed, the April 2018 IHMSA news was uploaded to the website earlier this week.

Bob Bauer from Northern Ky set this up. Haven't seen him in years. I will ask about him the next time I go to Crittenden.

I too feel like the scores could have been posted here every day. With todays technology, surely each days could have been downloaded to a pdf in a matter of seconds. Not all of us get on Facebook. A lot of old and non members come here just to see whats going on. I sometimes copy and paste things to other forums, especially my own clubs matches and results.
