OKC Gun Club
Our May 5th match was ushered in with temperatures in the low 70's & very little wind, which made for a great day at the silhouette range, and we had a great turnout as well, with 74 entries.
There were twenty-four, 40x40’s shot in this match; Jackie Brown (2) Steven Crews (1) John Weaver (3) Jim Fields (2) Tim Ablay (1) Larry Curts (1) John Blue (2) Charles Harbert (3) Woody Liddell (2) Debbie Tessman (1) Jack Tessman (3) & Roy Focht (3) great shooting guys & gals. Aslo there were twelve 39x40s. All but two of those 40x40's were in the flop shooting position.
Woody Liddell shot an OKC club first shooting a perfect 40x40 in both UHS BB as well as UFS. That's an iron sight 1/5 scale & iron sight 1/2 scale congrats Woody, fantastic shooting. That just doesn't happen very often.
One of our new shooters, Roy Focht, shot his first ever 1/5 scale SB 40x40. Roy returned to our sport last year along with brother Bill, both shot IHMSA competition many years ago & we're glad to see them back in the saddle.
John Weaver from the great state of Texas drove up & shot with us & posted some fantastic scores including a 40x40 BB revolver score, great shooting John.
Our practical hunter category is a great way to introduce a new shooter to our sport, so think who you might want to introduce to the most exciting shooting sport in the world.
Our IHMSA Oklahoma State Championship starts the end of this month, & IHMSA's World Championship is July 12th thru the 20th, make those two matches for sure.
Thanks to our target setters who, as usual, did a great job as well as those who helped in the stat house & with Debbie Tessman providing our noon meal.
