Looking to get a FA 44 revolver and was wondering what others have found to be accurate loads for shooting steel.

Lynn When I had a FA 44 my load was 19.2 grains of AA#9 with a hornady 240 xtp. Very accurate and not much recoil! Shot a 40 and a bunch of 39’s with it!! Hope this helps!!

Thanks Allen. I was thinking of using some 240 XTPs.

Lynn,
Let me know when you do find a FA in the 44 Mag -- I can't quite compare to Allen on the 40 and many 39's but I sure have enjoyed my FA 44 Mag in the 10" silhouette model. Even though I have not achieved the coveted 40 I am not giving up on trying every chance I can. I have started out with the Sierra 220 FP Tournament ( which I found out has been discontinued) I still have some bullets left to keep on trying.

Steve, Found a FA 44 in AZ. Hope to have it by late next week.
I have used the Sierra bullets in other revolvers and they were always very accurate. Too bad they are no longer available.
Also hope this virus scare doesn't cancel our silhouette matches.
I believe in being careful/cautious but this is getting blown out of proportion.
Anyway hope to find some good loads this summer.
Heard FAs don't like cast but want to try some anyway.

I shot a couple 60’s at the FL Shoot the Sun matches using a FA44. My load was 18.5 grs. N110, Sierra 250 Match( don’t think they make it anymore), Fed LR primer.
