FA ISGW Rear Sight Question

I picked up a used FA 22 with an ISGW Silhouette rear sight. The elevation screw has noticeable clicks/detents - although not as identifiable as the current production sight from FA (which I think are Bomar/Kensight). The WINDAGE screw has virtually no click and seems to rotate without any indication of movement other than visual.
Is this normal?

If there are no noticeable clicks on windage, i cant think thats a good thing. The bomars are a better alternative. I would look for a bomar but they arent made anymore. So you have to find a used one. I would call FA and see what they are using now. I have had Kensights and they are as good as bomars.

FA uses the Kensight rear which as Jim said is a Bomar clone.

what you have is a worn windage screw. on an ISGW, the detents are on the bottom of the head of the screw and had a tendency to wear over time. on a bomar or Kensight, the detents are on the edge of the screw head and wear less.
Also, almost all parts are inter-changeable between the bomar and kensight.
Present day FA's come with a kensight. BUT, I got a kensight about 3 years ago from Bob Baker which has been nothing but problems. The one I have, The Ball Detent for elevation is frozen and you will take the skin off your hand to turn it!

Thank you for the feedback. I am going to replace it with a Kensight unit. This will match my other FA. The worn windage detent makes sense to me for a root cause.
