LOUISIANA SMALLBORE - FIFTH SCALE – FIELD PISTOL CHAMPIONSHIP

What an awesome way to end the 2011 silhouette season here in Louisiana! Our annual Championship match was the most attended match we’ve had in several years. Fifty-seven entries were fired in Smallbore, Fifth Scale, and Field Pistol with shooters from Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana on hand. The Florida gang came prepared with Field Pistol 60 club scores by Wayne Smith (61) and Harry Stover (62). Wayne fired an impressive PAS score of 35X40 with cast bullets in a 22 Hornet Contender. Ginny West was all smiles after clinching Champion status in UAS. In spite of my ageing eyes, I was able to somehow muster a Fifth Scale aggregate score of 72X80, my best ever effort and good for that title.
Ascension Silhouette did well enough this year that we were able to offer some door prizes and everyone left the match with several goodies in hand. I can’t offer enough thanks to my wife Carolyn who set targets for us all year and keep us running smoothly throughout this weekend.
Thank you some much to everyone who came out for this match and our regular monthly matches this year. I appreciate each and every one of you. We plan to start up again in January next year, weather permitting, and I hope to see you all again in 2012.
