Lens Glare & Sun Shades

Any recommendations out there for a sun shade that will fit a Weaver 40 mm scope? (Other than tape and an index card). The shade that came with the scope is 4” long. So coupled with the 15” scope, it would violate the requirements for a max length of 18”. Unfortunately the sites I’ve visited do not do a good job of providing thread specifications. Hopefully someone has already solved this problem. I’m not above taking a hacksaw to the shade I have, but perhaps there is a more elegant solution.

Shoot on cloudy days.... sorry Tim. I have seen shorter sunshades for sale, I believe the scopes came with different length’s when New Years ago. Maybe check eBay. Good luck!
