Hearing protection

I wear BTE (behind the ear) hearing aides. That I remove when I'm using my hearing muffs. When I take out my hearing aide I can't hear myself fart must less someone talking > X2 with the muffs on. At a match I have a problem hearing the range commands, SO I'm thinking of buying some of the electronic Noise cancelling type muffs that amplifies normal sounds .
Just wondering who has used them ,what you think and what brand

I've got a pair of cheap ones, maybe in the $30 range. They work great for their purpose, but I'm not sure it would help in your situation. What I hear is a real tinny sound but not real amplified. Then when a shot goes off they just cut out everything for a second or two. Maybe a more expensive set would work better, but I don't know.

the Tinny sound is some what normal when I first got my hearing aides they had that sound to me.(and they cost big money) one pair I was looking at has a Volume control it think they were Cadwell around $40.

Maybe the same ones I have. I guess I would try em and if they don't work for you, get your money back.

i use a set of caldwel electronic that really amplify sound well ansd also block the shots,with adjustable volume for each ear,they are also the most comfortable muffs i ever have worn,$60 ebay

That's good to know. Mine just have one volume control and aren't real comfortable over my shooting glasses.

Buy a set of the Peltors. 7 in the model number. They amplify and have excellent sound quality. They cut out and have good db reduction. They are in the$150 range but worth every penny. They use one 9 volt battery. I also have a set of the thinner Peltors with the 6 in the model number and you couldn't give me a pair of them.

I also have a pair of electronic Caldwell's from Cabela's that work quite well.Takes a little getting use too a first.
