Contender 30 Reece barrel *SOLD*

MGM Contender barrel in 30 REECE. Stainless, 10.75 in, Shilen 1:8 twist, drilled and tapped for front and rear sights, 30Reece dies, approximately 300 pcs. formed brass from Starline 38 Spec.. This barrel has around 400 rds. through it.
I paid $345 for the barrel alone, will sell package for $ 360 shipped in Continental US only.

Have you shot heavier bullets in it. 165 or 180's?

I have shot Nosler 190 Custom Competition and Sierra 200 SMK. The 190 Nosler and 8.5 grs. V N-110 was very mild and accurate.

Do you think this barrel could be loaded mild enough with the heavy bullets to shoot taco hold with peep sights for Big Bore Standing class?

I shot peep on peep with it, but make your TC as heavy as possible. The Pachmeyer grip and forend will help. A 190 bullets at around 1000 fps works well, easily obtained with this barrel, cartridge. It's like a mini-300 Whisper.

For those not familiar with this cartridge, it has a capacity in between the 30-20 and the Whisper. You can use 30-20 data for it, and the brass is much stronger and better quality than 32-20 brass. You just lube a 38 Spec. case, run through the FL die, and it's ready to load. No neck turning, etc.
