We now have match number 3 of 2013 in the record books. Weather was perfect for a day at the range. We had a few new shooters attend today. I would like to welcome each one to our Jackson Purchase Rifle and Pistol club BB Silhouette match. Todd King participated in the Bordello match and is now familiar with match procedures. Todd is not new to shooting sports and he displayed safe gun handling and great sportsmanship. Todd has plans to shoot a 7-30 Waters Contender next month in the UAS category. Todd's son Grayson also attended and was a great help setting up the range and targets. We'll have to sort out a way for Grayson to shoot Field Pistol or possibly Bordello. Never too young to start shooting steel!
Also new to the Big Bore match this year were Richard and Justin Rickman. Once they decided to shoot they posted some pretty nice scores. Thank you guy's. We hope you enjoyed spending the day here at Jackson. We are counting on your return.
Also attending for his second match was Peter Wories. He shot both Field Pistol and Bordello entries. Pete is a very patient shooter and his scores reflect his commitment to each shot. Nice job Pete, thank you for attending. I personally enjoyed spotting for you.
We also had some standout performances by a few of our regular competitors. Darell Holcombe shot a 32 in Unlimited Standing BB which is a solid AAA score. He also had the high score in Field Pistol PAS of 27. I believe we will see higher scores yet from Darell in the future. Great shooting!
One other person worthy of recognition is Cathy Howard. Her scores just keep climbing every match. She also displays safe firearm handling which we all appreciate.
We had 21 entries this month. I would like to thank everyone that helped with the set-up/take-down. I very much appreciate your help. Also thanks goes to Judy my wife. Without her, I would not get the job done.
Next match "Sunday" June 23. First relay on the line at 10 AM. Shooting BB, FP and Bordello. See you then!
