IHMSA Match for April 13, 2014

Below are the scores from the IHMSA match held on April 13th, 2014 at the Tri-State Gun Club in Iowa. Thanks to all that helped set up and tear down. I'm sure the weather kept a lot of the regulars from coming out, plus the equipment failures that several shooters experienced.

We had a little bit of everything today. Started out with a thunderstorm coming over the range and the lights just went out….it was so dark I wondered if we needed to shine car lights on the targets for the first half hour. Then the rains came…..heavy downpour for awhile. This actually happened twice during the match. Several shooters had equipment failures…scope came off a gun…bent firing pins…an assortment of problems. Then came the targets….several people “turning” a target or two that just wouldn’t fall down!! But we did make it thru the entire match….wet, cold, muddy. Perhaps next time it will be better.
Would like to welcome the new shooters to our matches…Chris Herriman shot his first silhouette (rifle) match. Connor shot his first Big Bore entry…both of these shooters did very well.
This is our 37th year of shooting IHMSA silhouettes in Southeast Iowa. Hope we’ll see many of the regulars make the next match, along with our newer shooters. Next match will be on the second Sunday in May(Mother’s Day). Hope to see everyone then!
