LHA - 35 Years and still going

Post by 260 Striker »

The Logan Handgun Association in Bellefontaine, OH will hold its 35th anniversary match on May 24, 2014. The LHA is the oldest silhouette range in OH that is still holding IHMSA matches. I would like to extend a big welcome to any shooters who can come and help us celebrate this milestone. Nothing special is planned, just a day of shooting with friends and swapping stories.

By what I have been told by one of the founding members of our club. This is the 35th year for The Anderson County Sportsman Club. #:-s It takes a lot of work by a lot of people for ranges to last this long.

Way to go Anderson County Sportsman Club!!!!!!!!!!!
Those 35 years went by quickly. I hope both our clubs are still shooting silhouettes 35 years from now. I suspect there will be different faces then!!!!!

Well in OH it is the LHA. The longest we have held is 200 meters. Is that what you want ole? Just kidding. I would guess in AZ somewhere is the oldest range since the southwest is where silhouette shooting migrated to from Mexico but I'm just guessing.

It could be the Three Points range in Tuscon.........where it all started in the US. I'm only guessing though. I have been to that range.

I'm not sure if we qualify....the Iowa Handgun Metallic Silhouette Club started in April of '78...this is our 37th season of shooting IHMSA sanctioned matches.....BUT we did shoot in Augusta Iowa for 10 seasons...then moved to our present location of Montrose, Iowa....about 15 miles south to a better location.
