I saw this on gun broker.

Were these given out to winners or dealer exclusives anyone could buy?
I've seen some Dan Wessons with IHMSA numbers on them also.

Re: IHMSA super blackhawk
These Rugers were special made by request of Elgin Gates and were sold through the old Silhouette paper. Elgin made several guns available to the IHMSA members through the Silhouette and this was just one of them. They might be good shooters but the newer bull barrel Super Blackhawks had a heavier barrel and better front sight which was better suited to silhouettes. I don't think they are rare but are more scarce than other Rugers. This one has seen some use and looks like it wasn't cared for very well.

Re: IHMSA super blackhawk
I thought that looked familiar..
I found them in an old silhouette book (book is named "shooting steel")
these were manufactured and sold in 1980. the first 400 were sold through the old silhouette paper with a Mahogany presentation case and the last 100 were sold through the Ruger collectors Association. They sold New for $425 with the case.
2 problems with that one is that it has seen plenty of use and is missing the case.
