Jim Scoutten Responded to emails

All, Hosspower and I got a very nice email from Jim Scoutten about covering the World Championship match this year. Unfortunately, they must plan about 3 months ahead to cover any shooting events so they will not be able to cover the OK event. Jim admitted they had not covered IHMSA for quite a while and is willing to provide coverage to one of our larder matches in September is there is any large match being held then. He also checked our website and noticed the closest ranges to his team are in the KY area so he would like to see what is available in that area. Too bad we couldn't have had him prepped for the ECC!!! Anyway, is there any large match scheduled for September in that area? If our large matches are over for this year, I will reply to Jim and try to set up something for next year. He was very positive in his reply about covering one of our larger IHMSA matches so they could get enough footage for a show. Any takers?

We would have been happy to have them at the ECC. If we have it next year they are welcome. There is the L A Extravaganza Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles. Jim Kesser and his group has the Tres Banditos match in early October. Those are the only ones that come to mind right now.

The Region 4 Regional is the weekend of the first Sunday in October.

FYI to all Forum members - I forwarded the email response from Jim Scoutten to Nancy LaCroix and Steve Martens. Jim asked me to suggest a large match so he could plan for coverage but I didn't think it was my place to act as a representative of IHMSA to reply to Jim. I hope those two will get in touch with Jim and make arrangements to have coverage of one of our large matches. This may not happen until next year but at least the door is open to get some tv coverage on Shooting USA.
