Seville 375 Supermag

Post by ihmsakiwi »

Hi Guys,

My shooting buddy has just bought a Seville 375 Supermag and wishes to find a good cast bullet load and a good recommended bullet. He is thinking around the 220gr -240gr would be suitable for IHMSA BB.
Any body got any recommendations for either a good boolit to look at or any real-world loads? Peter.

Had a 375 Seville years ago and wish I still had it. Used a 240 grain cast bullet with 16.0 grains of H4227. Sized bullets to .375. One mould was a conical point and my second mould was a LFN design by LBT. Both bullets were 240 grains, plus or minus a few grains depending upon alloy. I used straight Linotype but wheel weights also worked but bullets came out just a little heavier. Great revolver. Wish I still had mine.

Accurate Molds has a 225gr GC mold originally designed for the Dan Wesson 375 Supermag.

I just acquired an almost like new Seville 375 SM and dies. This is the IHMSA model with the logo on the top strap. I have about 5 375 moulds that I am going to try. I still have the P&C 240 conical point I mentioned earlier and also have an LBT 240 LFNGC, Lee 240 RNFP, Saeco 240 Conical point with plain base and just recently got an NEI 210 SWCGC off Ebay. I hope to get a usable load worked out by our 6/22 match. Been casting so far using straight linotype since that worked so well with my first Seville 375SM. The IHMSA Shooting Steel book has some cast bullet loads for the 375SM with H4227 which I plan to use but not as hot loads as shown in the book. I used 16.0 grains of H4227 with the P&C conical point and that is the powder charge I plan to use with all the moulds I currently have. Maybe the DWs need to drive the bullets faster but the slower loads worked great in my first Seville. I guess I will just find out how this current Seville likes my old load.
