Our first match of the new year was somewhat thwarted by weather but a few brave souls showed up to make the match a success. It was cold and lightly raining so I sent my wife Carolyn home and did the target setting myself. I’d like to welcome two new IHMSA members in attendance today. Sal Molea and Ellis Sisk. Both had sampled our sport last year and were eager to get scores on their new cards. Sal shot a Practical Hunter entry using a borrowed Ruger Charger and managed a 36X40. He then re-entered in the same category and got his first 40X40. Ellis also shot Practical Hunter using a Taurus Tracker with a red dot sight. His final tally was 23X40. Philip Braud shot his usual 40X40 in UAS with his Ruger Charger. The rest of the match was consumed by NRA Cowboy Lever Action shooters who share the range with us on match day. The highlight of the match was the performance of Dustin Flint who shot a 39X40 in Cowboy Smallbore and then aced a 40X40 in Cowboy Pistol Cartridge. My thanks go to all who helped pick up the range at the end of the day.
