1) Chairs? There will be plenty of chairs for spotters. If you want to bring your own, please do so.
2) Target color? Black with a light gray contrasting berm.
3) Target Distance? All targets are in METERS! Big bore smallbore field pistol half scale fifth scale. All should be in the + or - tolerance per the rule book.
4)Platforms? There is a platform at every position. They are approximately 2 feet by 4 feet. They will accommodate flop shooters. If you are shooting flop. Determine if you want a platform or not before your relay. They are movable. There mostly is not enough room for you and your box. We use a chair to hold our box.
5)Food? Food will be available Saturday through Saturday for purchase each day.
6) Weather? July in Kentucky. Probably at least high 80s to mid 90s with pretty good humidity.
7) Space? Plenty of parking. Plenty of places to camp, no hookups. Put up a canopy. There will be a large canopy with tables immediately behind the firing line to stage you guns before your relay. There's a large clubhouse with air conditioning. Indoor bathrooms (very important to the ladies). I believe there will be a port-a-potty behind the firing line. The clubhouse is less than 50 yards from the firing line.
8) Water? I'm sure water will be available.
9) Meeting nights? Since some of the principles are not going to be there at the end of the week. I believe they will be on either Saturday, Sunday or Monday. That detail is being worked out by IHMSA and David Bemis. Of course, one of those days will be the banquet. Those will be announced at a later date.
10) Air Gun? We do not have an "enclosed place" to hold Air. That may have to be decided when everyone gets there.
11) 500 meters? If I'm correct we will do it like it has been done in the past. We will practice on Friday after the shoot offs and trophy presentation. Then shoot the 500 Saturday morning starting at 10:00am. ADDED 6/24/24. Those needing to shoot on Friday will be afforded the opportunity to shoot. This is for those who have a long way to travel to leave Saturday morning.
12) What to see? Lawrenceburg has two distilleries. Frankfort has distilleries and museums. Those are the two closest things. Bardstown maybe 45 miles down the road has everything. New Haven has Abe Lincoln and Makers Mark. Just let google be your friend.
13)Food in the evening? Frankfort has the most places to eat. Lawrenceburg has all the fast-food places.
14) Rugs? Rugs or shooting mats will not be provided. If you are shooting prone from the ground, you will want one.

Re: Questions about 2024 Match
Greg, thanks for sharing the overview of the week, I’m sure this will help those of us traveling. Looking to be a great match.
I talked with Jim K.last week, he reported that we have 49 shooters, from 14 States shooting 370 entries. Not including air and 500 meter!

Re: Questions about 2024 Match
I have an update on registered shooters;
We are now at 380 registered entries, 52 shooters from 14 states and now include a new country and Province. Saskatchewan Canada will be with us. I have heard rumors there may be one or two more states yet to be addded.
It is possible we will attain 450 entries by the time we add the air and 500 meter entries.
If you have not registered yet, I will continue to take registrations until July 18th. I will be leaving for the match on the 19th.
Get your entries in! This will be the biggest Silhouette match IHMSA has had in several years. Come be a part of it.

Re: Questions about 2024 Match
Director's meeting will be on Sunday night.
Banquet and Delegate meeting will be on Monday. Need to know number planning to attend. Going to try something different. Pulled pork and chicken will be provided. Rest of food will be potluck. Our fin kitchen staff, Miss Kim and Kathy will inform you what to bring. Salad's desserts and so forth. There is a Kroger food store 5 miles from range and a Walmart about 8 miles.
There will be no cost except what you buy at the food store.
Thoughts please.

Re: Questions about 2024 Match
Enjoyed the Ultra 500 today! And looking forward to shooting maybe 2 guns in it next month.
Ran my Leupold laser rangefinder on the turkeys and rams in the field behind the club rifle berms. Turkeys were dead nuts 385 yards and rams were dead nuts 499-500. Each animal had LED impact light, and a (4' x 4' ft?) steel backer painted white behind it to make spotting easy. Very cool, takes out much of the guesswork for spotters.

Re: Questions about 2024 Match
One more update on registrations.
Current total is 423 registered entries. This will be the biggest Silhouette match in the last 5-7 years. This number does not include air entries or 500 meter entries. Those entries are not included because they are signed up for at the match and are a first come first up kind of deal.
There is still time to register for the match. I am taking registrations until the 18th of July which is the Thursday before the match.

Re: Questions about 2024 Match
Last of range work was done 7/9/24. Maybe only a few minor things left.
I will be at range Friday the 19th for practice. Start time about 9:00am.
