problems with forums

Note:

The forums have been under constant attack from DOS (Denial of service) attacks which randomly will take down the forums. when the forums go down, it normally takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes to come back.
the permanent fix to this can only be done by the webhost and they want an amount that almost doubles what we pay to change one setting!
