Hey John, do you have the "fine crosshair - 1/8 dot" reticle in your Weaver T-36 ?? Do you have any trouble "losing" the dot and crosshair on black targets ??

I use a Weaver T-36x40 AO scope on my Anschutz 22LR flop gun and my XP100 6BR big bore gun. The main challenge with higher magnification is making sure you don't shoot targets 'out of order'. I get the scope picture and always count through the complete order left to right. I do not have any trouble getting all five shots off in the allotted time.
I also use a Weaver T-24x40 AO on my Anschutz 22LR unlimited standing (when I'm really needing to humble myself).
I absolutely love shooting from the flop position! Without this position I would have been forced to quit shooting because of waning eye-sight. Since I began shooting in the 'flop' I have been able to shoot 40x40 rounds and even shot 9 of 10 shoot-offs in big bore at my last shoot.
Go for it!!!!

I know we are hijacking this thread. But like proclaim said it has kept me shooting. As soon as I can come up with the money for a XP stock and trigger I'm going to build me a bigbore flop gun.

I personally feel any clear scope that tracks well in the 14x and up range will get you by. I have a .223 barrel with ?-40x scope on it. 18x is as high as I can comfortably shoot it. I don't shoot it very often so maybe with practice I could go higher.
